Back on earth Gretchen reminiscences with Kathryn and fixes a little problem in the process.

Short and angsty.

Phoebe: Gretchen walked up to her and drew her into her arms “Kathryn is alive darling. Owen let me know last night. She’s alive!”
Phoebe felt her knees start to give way and if it wasn’t for her mother arms, she was sure she would have fallen. “Kathryn’s alive. Where is she?”

Kaya: She knew she would eventually have to tell him about the fate of his friends and companions in the Maquis, but not in the first letter, that could wait until later. She knew what she would say though, it was her sisterly duty to rib him mercilessly about his relationships and that picture she saw, gave her the perfect opening. Grinning inwardly, she imagined the slow blush that would creep up his neck, set his cheeks on fire, and the appearance of Nocha’s dimples on his face. "Oh, yes." She thought, "I will bring up his captains name."

It all started with a toothache. No ordinary toothache mind you-the bone jarring, ear thumping, screaming out in agony kind of ache. The kind that you read about in works of fiction but never have to endure because this is after all the 24th century and of course we all have perfect teeth.

This was supposed to be a babyfic but ended up being another lets mess with Chakotay's mind fic. Written at the request of Cori, who wanted a story where Chakotay is not happy about  Kathryn being pregnant, but comes around in the end.

Returning to Earth brings back some traumatic memories for Chakotay. Luckily there is someone who can help.
